Our Product
“aξίa” [ak-sia] /ˈvæl.juː/
aξίa is a distinctive extra virgin olive oil produced exclusively from the Koroneiki variety. The olives are carefully harvested and pressed within 24 hours, preserving freshness and resulting in a perfectly balanced, fruit-forward olive oil with exceptional nutritional value.
Harvested early in the season, aξίa is classified as Agoureleon — a primary olive oil naturally rich in bioactive compounds. It contains exceptionally high levels of polyphenols, tocopherols, and other naturally occurring antioxidants, including flavonoids (such as apigenin), lignans (pinoresinol, acetoxypinoresinol), and secoiridoids.
On the palate, aξίa displays a moderate bitterness and a refined pungency, characteristic of high-quality early-harvest olive oils. Its peppery sensation is most noticeable at the back of the throat, followed by a pleasant bitterness at the base of the tongue – a sensory signature of its elevated polyphenol content, particularly oleocanthal and oleacein.

High Nutritional values
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (E.V.O.O.) has been valued for its health-protective properties since antiquity and remains a central element of the Mediterranean diet.
Today, extensive scientific research conducted worldwide has confirmed the exceptional nutritional profile of olive oil, highlighting the role of its polyphenols and other naturally occurring bioactive compounds in supporting overall well-being.
In particular, extra virgin olive oil contains a unique combination of health-related compounds, including oleuropein, oleacein, oleocanthal, hydroxytyrosol, ligstroside, squalene, and α-tocopherol (vitamin E) – substances widely recognised for their antioxidant activity and contribution to the protection of the body from oxidative stress.
“aξίa” & Health claim
aξίa [ak-sia] extra virgin olive oil is distinguished by its exceptional nutritional profile, containing more than 550 mg/kg of olive oil polyphenols.
Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress, when consumed as part of a balanced diet.
According to European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) guidelines and EU Regulation (EU) No 432/2012, this beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil, provided that the oil contains at least 250 mg of polyphenols per kilogram.
With its naturally high polyphenol content, aξίa fully complies with the requirements for the approved European health claim.
